Squash Rules

1. General
(i) The courts will be opened to members of the Club daily from 8:00 am to 8:00pm.
(ii) A member who wishes to play other than the above hours may do so provided he/she book the court at least 1 day in advance, and a request is made for a key of the court from the Club manager.
(iii) The courts will not be opened for booking between the hours of 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm daily. They are available to MEMBERS only, on a first come first serve basis, and the period of play is 3 games. Junior members and guests are not allowed to play during these hours.
*No charges will be levied for electricity during this period.
(iv) Booking are to be made in person and may not be made more that two days in advance. A registration book for booking purposes will be kept by the Club manager.
(v) During all other times, the courts will be available for booking by members for TWO sessions a day free of all charges. (1 session is 30 minutes)
(vi) One member is allowed to book one court, and he/she has standing should he/she wants to practice by himself/herself.
(vii) Members who book a court must be present to play.
(viii) Members who failed to turn up after booking the court, for the allotted time, the booking will be considered as cancelled and the court will be opened to others immediately.
(ix) Members who failed to turn up 3 time in a month after booking the court will have to explain the reasons to the Sub-Committee if requested. If the reasons are unaccepted by the Sub-Committee, he/she will be banned for further booking of court for a period of 2 months.
(x) The Committee reserves the right to close the courts without notice for repair, 48hours notice for competition.
(xi) All squash playing members and guests are subject to the Rules and By-laws of the Club.
(xii) Any clarification on the condition for use of the courts, may be sought from the chairman or any member of the Racquet Sub-Committee.
(xiii) These regulations may be amended from time to time by the Club General Committee on the recommendations of the Racquet Sub-Committee.
PRECAUTION – To prevent fire hazard there is to be no smoking in the court premises, especially on the verandah.

2. Guests
(i) A member can invite a guest to play with him/her provided the guest is registered and a payment of RM5.30 (plus 6% G. Tax) per session (including electricity fee) is paid.
(ii) If a member is found failing to register his/her guest, a penalty of 3 times the payment will be charged.
(iii) A properly introduced Sandakan Resident may not play more than once in any calendar month.
(iv) A Properly introduced visitor to Sandakan who is not a member of an affiliated Club may not play more than 3 days in any one week or 14 days in any one year.
